South London Solidarity Federation is calling a communications blockade against the Manpower employment agency on Thursday 29 January.
The action has been called as part of a week of action in support of our sister section, the Polish ZSP, who are involved in taking action against Manpower who provide workers to two Polish Amazon dispatch centres. The workers in these centres are paid 1/4 of the wage of workers in Germany carrying out the same job, are denied paid breaks during 10 hour shifts and receive no extra pay for working evenings and weekends. In addition there have been a series of cases of late or incorrect payments from Manpower whilst pay varies between different centres and between directly employed and agency workers.
The ZSP is demanding that Manpower and Amazon pay workers on time with clearly itemised payslips, a higher rate of pay for nights and weekends, a 15 minute break during shifts and equalised salaries between centres and between directly employed and agency staff. More information regarding the demands and the ZSP's campaign can be found on the ZSP website (http://zsp.net.pl/zsp/english).
We ask those that wish to support the campaign to telephone and email Manpower's two South London branches on Thursday 29th January demanding the organisation agrees to the ZSP's demands. The contact details are as follows
